Numbers

What are the latest poll numbers on impeaching Bush?

Who knows?

Gallup won't poll on the subject unless it comes up in the media, or in Congress, they say. And of course the media have no numbers on impeachment sentiments since there haven't been any polls.

But now impeachment is being talked about in Congress.

And in the media.

So maybe now we'll get some numbers.

//The Magic 8-Ball says, "The numbers which count are 218 in the House, 67 in the Senate."\\

People will take impeaching Dubya seriously when you can find one person not named cheney who thinks "President Cheney" is a good idea.

I don't see why you can't impeach them both.

Anyway, the process could, theoretically, keep them both too busy to do more harm. Maybe a proper investigation of their electoral status will reveal that yeah, they did steal the election, and we can boot the entire administration out mid-term. (Probably by the time due process finished it'd be too late to do any good, but let me fantasize.) If nothing else, indictment and conviction on several criminal counts can render even Cheney ineligible to run in 2008.

Besides, it's the right thing to do.

Thanks for posting this, John. It makes me feel a little better. I've been wondering for months why no one was moving to impeach. The news that the process has started is a nice little Christmas present.

Merry Holidays from Peni the Agnostic, and may next year be better for everyone not engaged in subversion of democracy, human rights violations, and shortsighted profiteering.
